…THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
MIDNIGHT EDT FOR EAST CENTRAL GREENVILLE COUNTY…

At 1106 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have fallen since
900 PM EDT.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Greenville Downtown, Greenville Eastside, West Greenville, Greer,
Taylors, Berea, Welcome, Paris Mountain State Park, Cherrydale Point
and Furman University.

Additional rainfall of up to one inch is expected over the area.
This is expected to result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flood water flowing over roads or threatening property,
or landslides to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, or by posting on our Facebook page, or Tweet
it using hashtag nwsgsp. your message should describe the event and
the specific location where it occurred.
