The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
East central Greenville County in Upstate South Carolina…

* Until 100 AM EDT

* At 1157 PM EDT, Doppler radar estimated between two and three
inches of rain fell due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban
and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to three inches
of rain have fallen since 900 PM EDT.

* The Reedy River and Brushy Creek were both still rising, but are
expected to crest below flood stage. Greenville Police reported
that Cleveland Park has been closed due to rising water from the
rain.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Greenville Downtown, Greenville Eastside, West Greenville, Greer,
Taylors, Berea, Welcome and Cherrydale Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flood water flowing over roads or threatening property,
or landslides to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, or by posting on our Facebook page, or Tweet
