…THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM EDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN GREENVILLE AND NORTHWESTERN SPARTANBURG COUNTIES…

At 1219 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated that as much as 4 inches of
rain had fallen this morning from around Gowensville and along the
highway 11 corridor. Reports of flooded roads within the upper
reaches of the Middle Tyger River have been received. As flood
waves work southeast into the balance of the warned area, additional
flooding is likely.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Landrum, Inman, Campobello, Lake Bowen, Tigerville, Gowensville,
Glassy Mountain, Fingerville and Lake Robinson.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross
water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only a few
inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. It is
not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN.

Runoff from heavy rain into creeks and streams will cause sudden
increases in water levels and flows, even in areas where rainfall has
been light or nonexistent. Hikers, campers and other individuals
outdoors must immediately seek high ground and avoid all streams.
