The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northeastern Greenville County in Upstate South Carolina…
Northwestern Spartanburg County in Upstate South Carolina…

* Until 245 PM EDT

* At 1140 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
warned area where up to four inches of rain have fallen around
the Gowensvile and very heavy rain will spreading into Northern
Spartanburg county as well. This warning includes upper levels of
the South Pacolet, and the Middle and South Tyger Basins.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Landrum, Inman, Campobello, Lake Bowen, Tigerville, Gowensville,
North Saluda Reservoir, Glassy Mountain, Fingerville and Lake


Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross
water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only a few
inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. It is
not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN.
