brief period of freezing rain or sleet is possible at changeover
early Saturday morning.

South Carolina mountains to the northern Blue Ridge and adjacent

..Friday…Heavy rain possible. Increasing southerly flow of moist
air will produce localized 2 to 3 inch rainfall totals by Friday
across the eastern side of the southern Appalachians. Although
widespread flooding is not expected, very hard ground from the
recent cold wave could enhance run off of rainwater and produce rapid
stream rises. Gusty winds are likely along the higher terrain as
well.

improving instability, may permit a few of the thunderstorms to
become severe. Damaging winds or an isolated tornado will be
possible.
