the

Southeastern Transylvania County in western North Carolina…
Southeastern Henderson County in western North Carolina…
Western Polk County in western North Carolina…
Northwestern Greenville County in Upstate South Carolina…
North central Pickens County in Upstate South Carolina…

* Until 815 PM EDT.

* At 554 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have fallen since this afternoon.
Additional moderate rain can be expected through 8pm, and another
round of showers and thunderstorms will be possible later this
evening.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Hendersonville, Brevard, Columbus, Flat Rock, Etowah, Laurel Park,
Tryon, Saluda, Rosman and Caesars Head State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Turn around, dont drown.

Please report flood water flowing over roads or threatening property,
or landslides to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, or by posting on our Facebook page, or Tweet
it using hashtag nwsgsp. your message should describe the event and
the specific location where it occurred.
