The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended
the

* Flood Advisory for…
West central York County in Upstate South Carolina…
Southeastern Cherokee County in Upstate South Carolina…

* Until 1215 AM EDT Friday.

* At 556 PM EDT, high flows along the Broad River is causing high
pool elevations at Cherokee Falls and Ninety Nine Islands
reservoirs. This is resulting in minor flooding across the
Advisory area.

* Minor flooding is defined as flooding of low-lying areas next to
streams, farmland, recreational areas, greenways, and boat access
ramps. Caution is advised anywhere near such areas.

* The following reservoir pool gauge is experiencing Action Stage
elevations:
Broad River at Ninety Nine Islands Dam.
Current Pool Elevation: 103.10 feet and falling.
Forecast: The Ninety-Nine Islands Reservoir pool elevation will
continue to experience a slow and gradual recession this evening.
Action Stage: 102.0 feet.
Minor Flood Stage: 105.0 feet.
Impacts: At 104.0 feet, Action Stage continues. Minor flooding of
farmland and access points along the Broad River from Cherokee
Falls to Saratt and Bullock Creek is ongoing. Flooding of Ninety-
Nine Ferry Rd may be ongoing.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Cherokee Falls and Draytonville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

High flows on the Broad River means associated tributaries may
experience backwater conditions that may cause flooding of low-water
crossings and farmland. Do not attempt to travel across flooded
roads. Turn around, dont drown.

or landslides to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
