* At 541 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles northeast
of Hartwell, or near Reed Creek, moving southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
IMPACT…Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
* Locations impacted include…
Hartwell, Homeland Park, Reed Creek, Lavonia, Gumlog, Iva, Lake
Secession, Bowersville, Starr and Lowndesville.
Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned
area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
Lake Hartwell is in the path of this storm. Get away from the water
and seek shelter in an interior room in the nearest shelter. If you
can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
